It is a sad fact of life that many animals suffer abuse of some kind during their lives. Abuse can take the form of physical assaults or punishment - but many suffer from the silent abuse of neglect. When abuse occurs during a sensitive stage of a pet's development, it can have a profound impact for the rest of its life, even if the pet is subsequently removed from the abusive environment.

An older animal may bounce back from a bad situation, but a young, impressionable pet will show lasting mental scars. He or she often has to be coaxed out of a shell of resistance and will likely never be fully trusting.

Many animals are abandoned in wilderness areas and never seen again. Many dogs, and cats are abandoned when they become pregnant, so who knows how many puppies and/or kittens were killed? Pets of different varieties are starved and abused everyday of the week.

I support several different organizations. All with the purpose of helping, saving, rescuing, pets with the hope of rehabilitaion and finally adoption by a loving new home.

For no reason question that a tiny, number involving considerate, committed people can change the world. Without a doubt, it is the only thing that ever previously has.

Unfortunately, presently there is absolutely no rapid fix pertaining to pet abuse, but there are many things all of us can easily all do to assist. Probably none of these is going to cause animal abuse disappear tomorrow, but every little bit helps to lower the risk further down the road.

And you don't have to become an animal "fanatic" to carry out. You actually do not have to end up being a member of each and every animal rights organization on the planet. Presently there are so many important things "regular" folks can (blank) do to have a great impact...

Take care of the pets you possess, and persuade other people to do the same...
For the most part, many people's hearts are in the right place whenever it comes to their own domestic pets, they merely don't realize many of the facts. In educating individuals regarding just how to better care with regard to their own animals, we find out many of the same excuses, and they do not actually *realize* that they tend to be unintentionally putting the animals at greater danger, simply because simply no body has ever explained it to them. Therefore the very first part is to get involved enough to educate oneself. Then an individual can easily begin educating other men and women.

There are many different reasons why individuals abuse animals. Animal cruelty covers a wide range of actions (or lack of action), so one blanket answer simply isn't possible. Each type of abuse has displayed certain patterns of behavior that we can use to help understand more about why people commit the crimes we encounter today.

You and I cherish animals. They share our homes and our lives, and they give us so much love and affection. It's hard to face the fact that many of them have never known any real comforts, been inside a home, eaten a nourishing meal, tasted fresh water in a clean container, or experienced a kind human touch.

Active cruelty implies malicious intent, where a person has deliberately and intentionally caused harm to an animal, and is sometimes referred to as NAI (Non-Accidental Injury). Acts of intentional cruelty are often some of the most disturbing and should be considered signs of serious psychological problems. This type of behavior is often associated with sociopathic behavior and should be taken very seriously.

The most common type of animal cruelty is neglect or abandonment - that is, people not providing adequate care for animals in their charge. These types of cases often involve situations where an animal is left without food, water or shelter, or when proper veterinary care was not obtained. In many of these cases, the underlying reason can sometimes be explained by the caretaker's ignorance. This is why many animal control officers and humane law enforcement officers will first attempt to educate the neglectful caretaker, rather than immediately citing them or arresting them.
